We’ve ended up with a lot of honey recipes on this site, way more than we planned, because every time one does well somebody asks for another twist on it, so here they all are in one spot, 32 of them, split up by what you’re actually hungry for, whether that’s a sticky pan of chicken on a Tuesday or something to pour into your coffee tomorrow morning.
And yes, hot honey is still having its moment in 2026, you’ll see it on pizza menus and fried chicken menus and there are like four brands of it next to the ketchup at most stores now, but you really don’t need to buy a bottle when warming honey with a spoonful of chili flakes for two or three minutes gets you basically the same thing.

Hot Honey Recipes
The reason hot honey works so well on pizza is pretty simple, you’ve got salty cheese and cured meat, a little heat from the chili, and then the sweetness kind of ties it all together, so anything with melted cheese or crispy edges is fair game.
1. Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza
This is the one that got a lot of people hooked on hot honey in the first place, the pepperoni curls into little crispy cups in the oven and you drizzle the honey on after it comes out, never before, because baked-on honey just scorches.
2. Hot Honey Chicken Pizza
Pretty much the same idea with chicken swapped in for the pepperoni, which makes it a handy way to use up the last of a rotisserie chicken and it’s a bit lighter if a whole pepperoni pie sounds like too much.
3. Hot Honey Chicken Flatbread
Using flatbread means you skip the dough completely and dinner’s done in about twenty minutes, plus the crust stays thin and crackly and the honey settles into all the little bubbles on top.
4. Hot Honey Pepperoni and Sausage Pizza Dip
Think of it as pizza you scoop instead of slice, everything goes into a skillet, gets baked until bubbly, and then you set it out with toasted bread or crackers and kind of stand back.
5. Honey Goat Cheese Pizza
Goat cheese and honey have been paired together forever because the tang of the cheese needs that sweetness, and this pizza feels a little more grown-up than the others, the kind you’d make on a Friday with a glass of wine.
6. Hot Honey Chicken Bites
Bite-size crispy chicken tossed in hot honey that you can serve as a party snack, spoon over a bowl of rice for dinner, or, let’s be real, eat standing at the counter straight off the sheet pan.
Honey Chicken and Easy Dinners
Heads up on all of these: the honey will look perfect, perfect, perfect, then black. It happens in about a minute. Stay by the stove at the end.
7. Honey Butter Garlic Chicken
One pan, a stick of butter’s worth of flavor, a bunch of garlic and a good squeeze of honey. Tired-Tuesday food that somehow tastes like Saturday.
8. Honey Lemon Garlic Chicken
Lemon is what saves this from tasting like candy chicken. Make extra rice, the sauce is the best part and you’ll want something to drag through it.
9. Ginger Honey Chicken
Fresh ginger gives this one a bit of a kick and the sauce gets glossy like the stuff from your favorite takeout place, honestly it’s ready before a delivery order would even show up.
10. Honey Pecan Chicken
The chicken gets a crunchy coat of chopped pecans and then a honey glaze on top, which feels a little Southern and a little fancy but it’s still simple enough for a regular weeknight.
11. Honey Soy Chicken Wings
Good for game day when you want something other than buffalo wings, the soy and honey cook down into a salty-sweet sticky coating, and you can do them in the oven, air fryer or on the grill, just keep a roll of paper towels nearby.
Honey Sauces, Sides and Dressings
12. Teriyaki Sauce with Honey
Homemade teriyaki comes together in a few minutes on the stove and skips the corn syrup a lot of bottled versions lean on, with honey doing the job of making it thick and shiny.
13. Cajun Honey Butter Sauce
Sweet and spicy and very buttery, it was made with seafood boils and shrimp in mind, though plenty of people end up pouring it over corn on the cob, chicken and even fries.
14. Honey Gold Potatoes
Roasted potatoes that come out crispy and buttery with just enough honey to caramelize the edges, which makes them an easy side for pretty much any of the chicken dishes above.
15. Honey Mustard Dressing with Whipping Cream
A creamy honey mustard made with a little whipping cream that’s good on a salad, but if we’re honest it gets used way more as a dip for chicken tenders.
Honey Desserts and Baking
Baking with honey isn’t quite the same as baking with sugar since it’s sweeter, adds extra moisture and browns a lot quicker, so if you’re converting a recipe check the tips further down first.
16. Honey Joys
These are an Australian kids’ party classic, cornflakes tossed in melted butter, sugar and honey and then baked for a few minutes in paper cups, and they disappear fast at any birthday.
17. Chocolate Chip Cookies with Honey Instead of Brown Sugar
Started as a we-ran-out-of-brown-sugar fix. Turns out the honey ones are chewier and taste a tiny bit like caramel, so now it’s its own thing.
18. Banana and Honey Bread
Those three bananas going black on your counter? Here. Honey swaps in for the sugar and the loaf stays soft for days, which almost never happens with banana bread.
19. Honey Cake with Whipped Cream Frosting
Skip the buttercream for once. Soft honey sponge, whipped cream on top, and a second slice won’t make anyone need a nap.
20. Strawberries with Honey Rosemary Whipped Cream
Strawberries plus cream that’s been whipped with honey and a sprig of rosemary. Sounds weird, the rosemary, we know. Try it anyway, ten minutes tops.
Honey Whipped Cream and Honey Butter
Pick one thing from this whole page? Probably this section. These end up on pancakes, pie, biscuits, cornbread, sometimes a spoon.
21. Honey Sweetened Whipped Cream
Three things go in: cream, honey, a little vanilla. Tastes gentler than regular sweetened whipped cream and doesn’t slump off a pie in the fridge for a good few hours.
22. Whipped Cream with Honey for Beginners
First time whipping cream? Go with this one. It tells you exactly when to stop, because about thirty seconds too long and you’ve accidentally made butter.
23. Burnt Honey Whipped Cream
You cook the honey until it darkens and starts smelling a bit like toffee and then whip it into cream, which gives you something deep and slightly bitter that’s amazing on apple pie.
24. Coconut Milk Whipped Cream with Honey
No dairy? Scoop the thick white layer off the top of a can of full-fat coconut milk and whip that. The can has to sit in the fridge overnight first, no shortcuts.
25. Whipped Honey Butter with Cream Cheese
Cream cheese makes it a bit tangy and keeps it spreadable even cold out of the fridge. Bring it to Thanksgiving with the rolls, it goes fast.
26. Honey Butter with Whipping Cream
That classic steakhouse-style honey butter, whipped extra light with a bit of cream, and it’s at its best melting into a warm square of cornbread.
Honey Coffee and Lattes
One thing to know with coffee is that honey only dissolves well in something hot, so for iced drinks you’ll want to make a quick syrup first or it’ll sink and sit in a sticky lump at the bottom.
27. Honey Latte at Home
It’s espresso, steamed milk and honey, and if you don’t have an espresso machine a strong cup of regular coffee works fine.
28. Iced Honey Vanilla Latte
Iced version. Stir honey into the shot while it’s hot (cold espresso won’t dissolve it), then ice, then milk.
29. Honey Vanilla Latte (Starbucks Copycat)
Copycat of the coffee chain version, and there’s a bit in there about how people tend to order the real one, in case you want yours to taste the same.
30. Honey Bun Latte
Cinnamon, espresso, steamed milk and a homemade honey vanilla syrup. Smells exactly like a tray of honey buns just out of the oven.
31. Honey Vanilla Syrup
Honey, water, vanilla, simmered for ten minutes. Keep a jar in the fridge for a couple weeks and your iced coffee stops having a honey puddle at the bottom.

Cooking and Baking with Honey: What to Know
Swapping honey for sugar. You can’t just trade a cup of sugar for a cup of honey and hope, it’s sweeter and it’s basically part liquid. The usual fix, which you’ll see from university extension offices like Kansas State University: for every cup of honey, cut the other liquids by 1/4 cup, add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda to balance its acidity, and lower the oven by 25°F because honey browns faster. That said, a recipe built around honey from day one tends to come out better than a converted one.
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Honey sticks to the measuring cup | Spray or oil the cup first and it slides right out |
| Honey went thick and grainy | That’s just crystallization, it’s not spoiled. Set the jar in warm water and stir |
| Glaze burned in the oven | Brush honey on in the last 10 to 15 minutes, not at the start |
| Honey sank in iced coffee | Make honey syrup first (equal parts honey and hot water) |
| Baked goods too dark | Drop the oven 25°F and tent with foil near the end |
Storing honey. Keep it in a closed jar at room temperature, since the fridge only makes it crystallize faster, and sealed honey lasts a really long time.
One safety note. Please don’t give honey to babies under 12 months, not even baked into something, because it can carry spores that cause infant botulism, according to the CDC. Older kids and adults are fine.

FAQ
What can I make with honey?
Pretty much anything sweet or sticky, so glazed chicken, hot honey pizza, teriyaki, whipped cream, honey butter, cookies, cakes and lattes, and there are 32 ideas in the list above.
How do I make hot honey at home?
Warm about 1/2 cup honey with 1 to 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes over low heat for 2 to 3 minutes, then let it sit 10 minutes and strain if you like. A small splash of vinegar brightens it.
Can I use honey instead of sugar in baking?
Yes, with adjustments. For each cup of honey, use 1/4 cup less liquid, add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and bake 25°F lower.
Why did my honey get hard?
It just crystallized, which is totally normal, so set the jar in a bowl of hot water and stir until it loosens up again.
Is honey safe for kids?
For kids over one year old, yes. Babies under 12 months shouldn’t have honey because of the risk of infant botulism.
