  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for topping, optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
